We’d love to help you answer any questions not covered there. Just say, “I checked the FAQ, and still couldn’t find an answer to ….”

Florida / short stacked play

If you want to play so that you can savor the challenge of postflop decision making and rejoice in the subtle battle of wits that makes poker such an intellectual endeavor, then none of the Florida games is really going to fit the bill. I suggest online play, perhaps some of the deep stacked tables, as high as you can afford.

But if you want to play a wild loose game and make lots of money in the long run, under Florida laws the bigger stakes turn out being better.

AC

Pick up the green coupon booklets available at all kinds of toll road plazas throughout the Northeast.   It will have plenty of coupons for AC and Absecon, for a wide range of prices.

(DISCLAIMER: It’s 2-3 years since the last time I went to AC; this may have changed.)

Short stack games

This comes up all the time in B&M. These limits are pretty standard for Florida and for California small-stakes games.

The games are easily beatable. Just learn the theory of stack size and how it effects your play. Read GSIHE if you’re at all fuzzy about this.

Dealing

Someone asked about dealing:

Are you committed to dealing poker, or would you be willing to break in in other games? When I asked a school in Tunica they told me the market there is best for craps and I forget what other games.

I would guess the long-term market for poker dealers isn’t great since we’re coming down off the boom. But anything’s easier once you have your foot in the door.
